Case Study: How Nailing My Offer Increased My Bookings

Welcome back to another podcast episode. This week we are going to be talking all about nailing your offer and my personal journey of nailing my offer and how that was able to increase my bookings.

Let’s dive in!

A Bit of My Background Story

Firstly, I know a lot of you have probably heard my story before, but when I first had my business, I started as a general Virtual Assistant.   I think that starting off as a general VA helped me to understand what kind of tasks I preferred.  It also helped me to craft clear offerings and packages around what I learnt.

For the first six months starting out, I used to just do an hourly rate as a VA.  This changed when I learnt to scale and refine my offer.  I ended up creating a very clear offer that enabled me to increase my bookings.  When you have a clear offer, it is very easy for a potential client to sign up with you.

I started off by having a clear Pinterest offer and mainly doing Pinterest management.  When custom style tasks came along, I would also take on these. This really split my focus and my energy.  I didn’t have a really clear offer and a clear type of client I was targeting.  At the end of a busy week, I would still only have three clients.  Realising I would not be able to scale my business if I kept doing this, I started saying no to custom-style packages. This then allowed me to focus on the packages I wanted to offer.

I niched further into Pinterest for photographers and established myself as a Pinterest Manager for Photographers.  I increased my bookings significantly due to having a very good referral system.  Becoming well-known on Pinterest for my signature offer, I was then able to pitch directly to photographers.  I knew exactly what my offer was and how I could best serve them.

Eventually I added blog management because it was an ideal addition to managing photographers Pinterest.  The blogs helped the photographers have a lot of success on Pinterest.

I will outline the key factors below of what I learnt that really worked for me.

 1.    UNDERSTANDING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

Define your ideal client and get to know all about them.  What are their desires and plans for their business.  How can I help to accomplish the goals they have?

 2.    EVALUATE YOUR CURRENT OFFER

How can I shorten my offer and fine tune the systems around that? Keep in mind not to have too many decisions for a client to make as this can cause indecision.

 3.    CREATE A CLEAR AND PRECISE SIGNATURE PACKAGE

Create a signature package so you will stand out from the crowd.  This will also help potential clients to build trust in you right from the start.  They will see you have a clear focus and package.  This will also help with referrals which will increase sales.  Having a signature offer will make marketing a whole lot easier too.

So, in a nutshell, the way I structure my business  is to first understand your target audience, evaluate your current offer and create a clear and concise signature offer.
